A search is underway for a 20-year-old patient reported missing from a Halifax hospital.

The Nova Scotia Health Authority says Jason Zinn’s well-being is at greater risk the longer he is away from treatment.

Health authority staff are working with the Halifax Regional Police and mobile crisis unit to try and locate Zinn.

He is described as an African-Canadian man with a slender build, dark brown hair with sideburns, a short beard and dark brown eyes. He is five-foot-eight inches tall and weighs 150 pounds.

Zinn was last seen wearing a beige hooded coat, dark track pants with three white stripes, a dark backpack and dark sneakers with white soles.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police.
