A powerful snowstorm didn’t stop one Maritime man from enjoying the Wednesday’s winter weather.
Moncton resident Sebastien Dalcourt is sick of winter. So, in an act of defiance, he grabbed a beer, parked himself on his lawn amidst the blizzard and dreamed of the beach.
“It was just a springtime temper tantrum at a storm that didn’t really care if I had an opinion on it or not,” says Dalcourt.
His wife recorded his antics from the shelter of their living room. Dalcourt posted the video on social media and it spread quickly.
“It’s just the Atlantic Canadian way, as far as I can tell,” says Dalcourt. “You want to go outside and sit down in the snow, you sit down in the snow. I’m just glad I had a chair and I didn’t have to build my own chair.”
The scantily-clad Maritimer spent a whole five minutes soaking up the snow while reggae music blared in the background. His three children say they appreciate their dad’s sense of humour.
“He actually had to brush some snowflakes off of his chest, because one had gotten in his belly button,” laughs Dalcourt’s daughter Alexandra.
His kids weren’t the only ones laughing; Dalcourt’s video has been shared thousands of times on social media.
“To be able to have made a few smiles at the end of the day, it makes me feel happy,” he says.
