Cape Breton Regional Police say a suspect is in custody after a man was shot and killed in Reserve Mines, N.S. Thursday evening.
Police were called to a home on Sydney Road around 8:15 p.m. They found a man in his 20s suffering from gunshot wounds. He was treated by emergency responders but was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police were looking for a suspect who fled the scene in a small red vehicle. Investigators identified the suspect and tracked him to the Halifax area overnight.
Halifax Regional Police assisted Cape Breton Regional Police in arresting the 25-year-old man in Dartmouth Friday morning.
Police say charges are pending and the incident remains under investigation.
