GRAND FALLS, N.B. - Police say a 21-year-old man is facing charges of murder and attempted murder after allegedly stabbing both parents in New Brunswick.
Grand Falls police say they responded to a call about a fight in progress at a residence (on Tobique Road) at around midnight.
A 54-year-old woman, who acting police Chief Rosaire Leclerc says was the suspect's mother, was found injured at the scene and later died.
Leclerc says the suspect's 57-year-old father was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has been released.
A 21-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
Leclerc says the investigation is continuing.
