HALIFAX -- Police in Halifax say a 27-year-old woman faces extortion charges.
Police say a 46-year-old man came to police headquarters on Sunday and told officers he was receiving threatening messages and demands for money from a woman he met online.
The man said the threats followed a brief relationship which he broke off.
Police say they arrested the woman around 12:45 a.m. today.
The woman faces charges of extortion, uttering threats to cause death or serious bodily harm as well as breach of a probation order.
