A New Brunswick man has pleaded guilty to child pornography charges stemming from a two-year investigation into child sexual exploitation.

Police started investigating the man in 2014 and were able to identify two victims.

The 60-year-old Pointe-Verte, N.B. man was arrested in July 2015. He cannot be named due to a court-imposed publication ban to protect the identity of the victims.

The man appeared Wednesday in Bathurst provincial court, where he pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual interference, one count of possession of child pornography, one count of production of child pornography, one count of making available child pornography and one count of breach of an undertaking.

He remains in custody and is due back in court for sentencing on June 17.
