A 14-year-old from Stewiacke, N.S., is facing break and enter charges after police received several suspicious person reports.

Const. Joshua A.M. Burcham of Colchester District RCMP says the reports were called in around 2 p.m. on Friday.

He says multiple callers reported a suspicious person believed to be breaking into homes in the Main Street area of East Stewiacke.

With the help of residents, the 14-year-old was arrested outside an open window at a home on Main Street East.

Police say the youth had multiple stolen items with him at the time.

Police determined that the youth had committed three break and enters and two attempted break and enters in the area.

A search warrant was later executed at the youth’s home where more stolen property was seized, including electronics, liquor and jewelry.

The youth will appear in Shubenacadie Youth Justice Court on July 18 at 1:30 p.m. to face the charges.
