Halifax Regional Police are searching for suspects after two bank machines were broken into just minutes apart in downtown Halifax Sunday morning.

Police say two men were spotted breaking into an ATM machine just after 5 a.m. at Spring Garden Place.

An empty and damaged bank machine was found upon their arrival.

A white truck was seen fleeing the scene, and later located in the 1100 block of Queen Street.

About 10 minutes later, police were called to a similar incident at the Maritime Centre. An empty and damaged bank machine was found, and it’s believed one of the suspects had a crowbar.

The suspects fled the scene in an older-model, dark-coloured pickup truck, which was located Monday around 8:10 a.m. in the 5000 block of Morris Street.

Police believe the two incidents are connected, and are looking for two men, with one described as being heavy set.

Anyone with information on the incidents or the suspects are asked to contact Halifax police or Crime Stoppers.
