Canada Post marked Friday the 13th by unveiling a spooky series of stamp, including one with strong ties to our region.

The Ghost ship of the Northumberland Strait is a legendary tale around here: for more than 200 years, sailors have reported visions of a burning ship in the water between Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.

On a number of occasions, onlookers have tried to rescue the ship, but it always vanishes into the mist.

The tale, and four others, are now immortalized on this new stamp from the post office.

Other featured tales include Quebec’s Count Frontenac, Ontario’s Fort George, the St. Louis Ghost Trainin Saskatchewan and Alberta’s Ghost Bride.
