HALIFAX - The case of an 18-year-old man accused of plotting murder after police found a bag of guns near a Halifax-area high school is due in court today.
Jonathan Murray of Halifax was charged last month with conspiracy to commit murder.
He was originally charged with uttering threats, but police say the new charges came as they continued to investigate after an incident at Millwood High School in Middle Sackville, N.S.
Police said they received a tip on April 6 that people with firearms were in the area and the high school was locked down.
Officers later found a duffel bag containing two long guns, two BB-type guns and some ammunition.
They allege that Murray was planning to commit a violent act at the school, but offered no specifics.
Two suspects -- one 15 and one 17 years old -- were also arrested and are facing several charges related to the seizure of the guns and ammunition.
