SYDNEY, N.S. -- The jackpot is expected to be $2.2 million Saturday when the Chase the Ace fundraising draw resumes in Sydney, N.S.
About 30,000 people are expected to travel to the city for the big event.
Police have called in reinforcements and local restaurants are preparing for a busy day.
Chase the Ace is like a 50-50 draw in which players buy numbered tickets for $5 each.
The winner gets a percentage of the total ticket sales and a bigger jackpot if they pull the ace of spades from a deck of cards that gets smaller with each successive draw.
There will be six cards left in the deck for Saturday's draw.
Event organizer Stephen Tobin says busloads of players from as far away as Montreal have been travelling to Cape Breton for the weekly draws.
