Halifax police say a shooting that sent a man to hospital earlier this week is linked to drug activity.
Officers responded to a townhome in the 6000 block of Chebucto Road after 10:30 p.m. Monday.
When they arrived they found a 25-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre where he underwent emergency surgery. He remains in hospital in stable condition.
Police are now looking for two men in connection with the shooting.
The first suspect is described as a white man, five-foot-four, with medium-length brown hair, a large straight nose and small eyes.
He was last seen wearing a black pea coat, grey hoodie, blue jeans and a purple T-shirt .
The second suspect is described as a black man, six-foot-two, with a slender build and a closely-shaven head.
He was wearing dark clothing and a bandana .
Police say they found evidence of drug trafficking after an initial search of the home. They obtained a search warrant and seized a quantity of marijuana, hashish, cash and drug paraphernalia.
Police say the incident is not random and is linked to drug activity. They also say criminal charges are expected.
