CTV Atlantic received three awards and an honourable mention at the Radio Television Digital News Awards Atlantic Awards Gala Saturday evening.
The awards recognize the best in radio, television and online journalism produced in 2014.
The CTV News at 5 Remembrance Day coverage won the Trina McQueen Award for best news information program. CTV News at 6’s New Brunswick election coverage won the Gord Sinclair Award for live special events.
The Dave Rogers Award for best short feature was won by the CTV Atlantic team of Kayla Hounsell, George Reeves and Steve Gomes for “Gimme Shelter.”
The CTV Atlantic team of Kelland Sundahl, George Reeves and Steve Gomes received an honourable mention for the Adrienne Clarkson Diversity award for “My Name is Spencer.”
Reporter Mike Cameron was the recipient of a lifetime achievement award for his 30-plus year career in broadcasting.
The awards gala was co-hosted by CTV Atlantic’s Kayla Hounsell.
