The Boys and Girls Club of Saint John has fired one of its employees over allegations of unspecified misconduct involving a child.
The club’s program director says the employee was suspended after the allegations were reported to the New Brunswick Department of Child Protection.
The employee was then terminated after new information came to light, which the club says it cannot release at this time.
The Saint John Police Force says it has been in contact with the Boys and Girls Club and is investigating the allegations. Police say there is no indication the alleged misconduct took place on club property.
The club says it is cooperating with police and is offering full support to the child and the child’s family.
The Boys and Girls Club of Saint John has been providing programs to children for over 100 years.
