It has been three months since anyone has seen Reita Jordan.
Police say her disappearance is suspicious, but with no leads her family is going to any length to bring her home.
More than 20 people spend the day searching for her in a wooded area of Tantallon, Nova Scotia.
“I need her back, I want her back,” says Emily Jordan, Reita’s sister. “I lover her, we all love her just as much as we miss her.”
Reita is known is a smart, fun loving and caring 34-year-old woman.
She was last seen at her boyfriend’s home in Tantallon on March19. She said she was moving out.
When family didn’t hear from her, they filed a missing person’s report.
In April, the RCMP Major Crime Unit picked-up the case.
“I can’t speak to whether or not they expect foul play,” explains Staff Sergeant Scott Warnica. “I know they consider her disappearance suspicious, and it’s odd for her to be gone for this period.”
The Jordan family was desperate for answers and they got the help of a psychic who told them where Reita could be found.
Without any other option but to wait, the family decided to organize a search party.
Family members say they are not happy with how police are handling the case. Officers were not part of Saturday’s search.
“I know they are working on this case, and if they had information leading them to an area of the province to search, they would be there today,” says Staff Sergeant Warnica.
Emily Jordan believes more could be done to find her sister.
“It doesn’t matter, her history or her past, or what she’s done,” says Jordan. “Maybe it was a reason for her disappearance, but I’m not thinking about it right now. It doesn’t matter to me.”
Until something else is discovered, Reita’s family is staying strong and is hoping someone comes forward.
“Someone knows something, somewhere,” says Jordan. “So be a man, or a woman and fess-up, because whether she’s here or there, we need to know where she is.”
