HALIFAX - Halifax police are investigating a third case of a pin being placed inside a candy bar handed out on Halloween.
Police say the latest case of tampering with candy was discovered Wednesday morning by a parent who took a bite out of a small Halloween-sized bar.
The bar was handed out in the Portland Estates area of the city.
The RCMP was already investigating a complaint of a pin found inside a candy bar in the nearby suburb of Cole Harbour after a junior high student found a sewing pin inside a small treat.
Officers said that was in the same area where another family had gone trick-or-treating and found a one-inch pin lodged inside a small chocolate bar.
Police are cautioning parents to check their children's candy
