Halifax Regional Police are renewing calls for clues in the murder of Tanya Jean Brooks, who died four years ago.

Her body was found in a trench along the west side of St. Patrick’s-Alexandra School in Halifax on May 11, 2009.

Brooks, a mother of five children, was from the Millbrook First Nation near Truro, N.S., but was living in Halifax when she died.

Police were able to trace her movements until roughly 9 p.m. on May 10.

Investigators believe Brooks knew her assailant and that there are people who know what happened who haven’t spoken to police.

Police are asking anyone with information about the case to come forward.
