Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect after a man was assaulted outside a Halifax bar last week.
Investigators say a 24-year-old man was standing outside the Toothy Moose on Argyle Street with two women when he was approached by another man around 4 a.m. on June 15.
Police say the man pushed his way by the women and punched the alleged victim in the face without having been provoked.
The alleged victim fell to the ground and the suspect fled on foot with another woman.
Friends took the alleged victim to the hospital, where he was treated for serious facial injuries, including a broken jaw.
Police have released two photos of the suspect taken from video surveillance in the area. He is described as a black man in his 20s. He is about five-foot-ten with a small build.
The suspect was wearing a black shirt, brown shorts, black sneakers and white socks at the time of the incident.
Anyone with information about the suspect or the alleged assault is asked to contact police.
