If you recently donated an item to a Halifax-area thrift store, you might have accidentally donated some cash too.

Halifax Regional Police responded to the Value Village on Chain Lake Drive in Bayers Lake Monday afternoon after staff found money inside an item that had been donated to the store the day before.

Police are now trying to track down the owner of the cash.

“To claim the money, the person must be able to specify the amount of money, denominations, the item in which the money was found and any other useful information to determine ownership,” said Const. Carol McIsaac in a news release.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Halifax Regional Police at 902-490-5016.
