Nova Scotia’s Highway 101 is reopened to traffic after a fatal collision shut down a section of the highway.
RCMP say a tractor-trailer collided head-on with another vehicle between exits 7 and 8, near Falmouth, shortly after 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
The driver of the car, a 56-year-old man from Kentville, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld at this time.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
A section of the highway, between the Hantsport and Grand Pre exits, was closed to traffic for several hours and motorists were rerouted onto Highway 1.
Police say the highway has since reopened to traffic.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
