The woman known as the "Internet Black Widow" will appear in court Tuesday after being accused of breaching conditions of her peace bond.
A Halifax Regional Police officer recognized 80-year-old Melissa Ann Shepard at the Halifax Central Library on April 11, stating she was attempting to access the Internet.
The arrest came less than a month after Shepard was released from prison under 22 court-imposed conditions, which included a ban on accessing the Internet.
Shepard served more than two years in prison for spiking her new husband’s coffee with tranquilizers.
Police issued a public warning when Shepard was released, stating she is considered a high risk to reoffend.
Shepard is also charged with breaching a condition that she keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
