Jonathan MacInnis
CTV Atlantic’s Jonathan MacInnis is a videographer based in Halifax.
Jonathan grew up in Yarmouth, N.S. and still has strong ties to the community.
He lived in both Toronto and Vancouver before returning to Halifax to attend the Atlantic Media Institute.
Jonathan began working with CTV in 2002, known then as ATV.
He began his career in news as an autocue operator at the Halifax station. He quickly took on other roles in the newsroom before working his way in front of the camera.
Jonathan’s first experience as a videographer came in the summer of 2004 in Saint John. He then worked as a reporter in Halifax, before making the move to Moncton in 2009. In 2020, Jonathan returned to his home province to work out of Halifax.
Jonathan’s love of story-telling came from his father (George,) who was a columnist for the Yarmouth Vangaurd.
Sports has always been a big part of Jonathan’s life; he grew up playing baseball and basketball and cheers for the Leafs, Jays, and Mooseheads.
Jonathan is married, with two sons and a daughter.
