Police say a 53-year-old Kings County man faces a second-degree murder charge in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in Enfield, N.S.
Joseph James Greene was arrested after police carried out a search warrant at an apartment in Kentville on Thursday.
Officers responded to a weapons complaint at a home on Stage Road before 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Upon arrival, police found a man outside the home, suffering from a gunshot wound.
“EHS personnel performed lifesaving interventions but the person succumbed to the injury and passed away at the scene,” said RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Greg Church.
“Foul play is suspected."
Police say 47-year-old Patrick Ernest Deagle of Bedford died of a gunshot wound.
How the two men knew each other, and their connection to the Enfield property, remains unknown.
“We weren’t able to confirm relationships at this time. Again, the investigation is still ongoing,” Church said.
Investigators were expected to remain on scene at split-level home on Stage Road home all day Thursday.
Neighbours who spoke with CTV News said they didn’t know the people who lived in the house, saying the residents only moved in a few years ago.
