Saturday's beautiful weather had Nova Scotians flocking to beaches and lakes and so to were the province's lifeguards.
This is the first day lifeguards were out patrolling the beaches.
Since 1973 the service has upheld a record of no drownings during supervised hours.
You can visit the Nova Scotia lifeguard service website for a list of beaches and times that lifeguards will be on duty.
