A 23-year-old Eskasoni, N.S. man is facing charges in connection with an alleged weapons threat that prompted a lockdown at Cape Breton University last week.
Cape Breton Regional Police responded to the university Thursday morning after campus security discovered an alleged threat on social media, saying someone was going to bring a weapon to school.
The school was placed on lockdown while police searched the campus.
No weapons were found and the lockdown was lifted Thursday afternoon.
Police identified a suspect in connection with the incident and arrested him Monday.
Bertram William Jr. Bernard is charged with uttering a threat and mischief. He was released from custody on a promise to appear in Sydney provincial court on Dec. 7.
