FREDERICTON -- New Brunswick's labour minister says a mediator has been appointed to resolve a labour dispute at the University of New Brunswick.

Jody Carr says he's hopeful the mediator can get the university and union back to the bargaining table.

The Association of University of New Brunswick Teachers has called a strike vote for Dec. 3-4.

The association represents about 575 teachers, researchers and librarians.

Wages and workload are the main issues.

Their contract expired June 30.
