The New Brunswick Department of Early Childhood Development is now posting daycare inspection reports online.

The new policy fulfills an election promise by the Liberal government and brings the province in line with other jurisdictions, including Nova Scotia. The ministry says results from annual reports conducted at licensed childcare facilities around the province are now available online, providing parents with transparency.

“(It’s) also about accountability. When you know all the reports will be public, I think it makes sure the daycares will respect the different regulations,” said Serge Rousselle, minister of Early Childhood Development.

The government says it will also post inspection reports for nursing and special care homes online.
