New Brunswick RCMP say a man wanted in connection with an alleged assault on a group of campers has been arrested.

Police responded to an assault complaint in the woods off Route 695 between Springfield and Cambridge Narrows around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police say a group of adults was camping in the woods when they were allegedly assaulted. One man was cut during the alleged incident.

He was treated in hospital and released. No one else was injured.

An arrest warrant was issued Tuesday afternoon for 44-year-old Timothy Murray Bostwick in connection with the incident.

Sussex RCMP arrested Bostwick in Hatfield Point around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday after receiving a tip from the public.

Bostwick is due to appear in Burton provincial court to face charges of uttering threats, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public and mischief.
