N.S. voters headed to the polls for July byelections

Nova Scotia Premier Stephen McNeil has announced that provincial byelections will be held in three ridings on Tuesday, July 14.

In a late afternoon news release Saturday, the Premier’s Office announced byelections will be held to fill vacancies in Dartmouth South, Cape Breton Centre and Sydney-Whitney Pier.

The two Cape Breton ridings were left vacant after NDP MLAs Gordie Gosse and Frank Corbett announced their resignations in early April.

The riding of Dartmouth South was previously held by Liberal MLA Allan Rowe. He died suddenly in March.
