Change is in the air at the airport in Saint John, N.B.

Next week airport officials will announce a new service provider at the facility. Flights and connections will be made available to different areas in Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador.

Airport staff tell CTV News there is a need to provide the new routes.

“A lot of the Saint John population – trades people, business people – that have to get where there is a lot more business, areas like northern Labrador,” says Saint John Airport President and CEO Bernard Leblanc. “So, this is a type of service that enables that and allows people to reach these destinations.”

Officials say Saint John will be the first airport the airline will fly out of in our region.
