CHARLOTTETOWN -- Police in P.E.I. are investigating allegations that a man threatened and pointed a gun at his son.

Police said they responded to a call in the Millcove area at about 1:20 a.m. Wednesday, where they seized several firearms and arrested a 47-year-old man without incident.

RCMP say they are investigating allegations of the man pointing a firearm, uttering death threats and unsafe storage of firearms.

Police say the disturbance was a result of an altercation between a father and his 18-year-old son.

The man was released and is due in court in Charlottetown on Sept. 17.
