More than two dozen employees at a manufacturing company in New Brunswick were taken to hospital this morning after becoming ill.

Chris Noble is the Health and Safety manager for Sunny Corner Enterprises. He tells CTV News the company’s assembly plant in Miramichi was evacuated this morning as a precautionary measure because employees were feeling nauseous.

Ambulance New Brunswick dispatched six ambulances to the plant on Walsh Avenue. According to the Miramichi Regional Hospital 37 people were treated for exposure to carbon monoxide and as of late this afternoon, only one person is currently being treated. Ambulance New Brunswick says seven of those taken to hospital were in critical condition at the time of transfer.
