RCMP have arrested two men in connection with a robbery at a drugstore in Nova Scotia’s Queens County.

Police say an armed man entered the Pharmasave in Caledonia at about 10 a.m. on April 30 and demanded prescription pills from a female employee.

“He was talking to one of my technicians,” pharmacist Andrew Johnson, who owns the store, told CTV News last week. “What it looks like, he had a weapon of some sorts.”

Johnson said the man seemed nervous.

“He asked where the prescription drugs were and I showed him. He took what he wanted and he kind of made a beeline back up to the front of the store and then took off from there.”

The robbery prompted a hold-and-secure situation at nearby North Queens Community School, meaning no one was allowed in or out of the school for two hours.

No one was injured.

Police arrested two Lunenburg County men and seized a significant amount of prescription pills on Tuesday.

Jamie John Renouf, 28, and Shane Hall, 27, both of West Clifford, remain in custody.

Police say they face several charges in connection with the incident, which remains under investigation.
