Halifax police are urging motorists to slow down after a car hit a 73-year-old woman in a marked crosswalk.
The woman was crossing Almon Street yesterday afternoon when she was hit by a vehicle turning onto the street.
She was taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
A 62-year-old woman was charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
Police are reminding pedestrians to make eye contact with motorists before crossing the road.
