HALIFAX -- Police are investigating a pair of violent incidents that happened near a Canada Day concert in the Halifax area.

Police say they were called to a playground behind Alderney Landing around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday after reports of a stabbing.

Investigators say a 19-year-old man was taken to hospital with two stab wounds in his abdomen.

Less than an hour later, an 18-year-old man was brought to officers at the venue with a gunshot wound in his leg.

Police say they were not able to find where the shooting took place.

Officers say neither victim was seriously injured and no suspects have been arrested.
