The RCMP are investigating an alleged assault and armed robbery at a convenience store and pizza shop in Lower Sackville, N.S.

Police say two men knocked on the door to the Disco Deli on Sackville Drive around 3:20 a.m. Monday. When the owner came to the door, police say the suspects pushed him and sprayed him with pepper spray.

Then they fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.

The owner was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police responded to the scene but were unable to locate the suspects, described as white males in their late teens or early 20s.
