- All schools in the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board are closed.
- All CSAP schools are closed.
- All NSCC campuses are closed.
- Cape Breton University is closed.
- St. Francis Xavier University is closed.
- Dalhousie University has closed its Halifax and Truro campuses.
- The University of King's College is closed.
- Mount Saint Vincent University is closed.
- Saint Mary's University is closed.

Prince Edward Island:

Transportation:
- Halifax Transit has suspended all bus and ferry services for the day.
- Kings Transit Authority has bus service for the day.
- Fredericton Transit has suspended all bus service for the day.
- Codiac Transpo has suspended all bus service for the day.
- Saint John Transit is suspended for the day.
- The overnight parking ban remains in effect in the Halifax area. Cars must be off the streets between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m.

- The parking ban is in effect in the north, east and west areas of Saint John. Cars must be off the streets between midnight and 7 a.m.
