A 17-year-old has died and two others are in hospital after a car crash in Overton, N.S., on Saturday.
CTV News has learned the teen was Jadon Robinson, a student and football player at Sir John A. MacDonald High School in Upper Tantallon, N.S.
Yarmouth Rural RCMP confirmed the teen died from his injuries.
Emergency crews were called to the single-vehicle crash on Highway 304 around 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
Police say the driver failed to handle a sharp turn and the vehicle ended up upside down in a pond.
A 17-year-old passenger climbed out and made it to shore, but the 17-year-old driver and a 19-year-old passenger were trapped inside.
RCMP officers and local residents entered chest-deep water to rescue the pair.
The driver was airlifted to hospital in Halifax, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The two passengers were taken to Yarmouth hospital with minor injuries, where they were later released.
