A Nova Scotia teen is recovering in hospital after he was shot multiple times outside Halifax last night.

RCMP responded to reports of shots fired in the Downey Road area of North Preston around 6 p.m. Monday.

Investigators say a passerby was rushing the 18-year-old male victim to hospital when emergency personnel met them at the intersection of Highway 7 and Lake Major Road.

The teen was taken to the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre in Halifax where police say he remains in stable but serious condition with multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim’s name has not been released but police say he is from North Preston.
