OXFORD, N.S. -- A 34-year-old man who police allege is tied to a Mexican street gang has been arrested in Nova Scotia and is facing charges of breaching bail conditions in Alberta.
RCMP Sgt. Al LeBlanc says Peter Alan Griffon was apprehended Friday in Oxford, N.S., in response to 13 outstanding warrants for breach of recognizance.
Griffon was arrested in December on charges of drug trafficking, possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, careless use of a firearm and possession of body armour.
Investigators allege Griffon is a member of the La Familia street gang in Mexico.
Two other people alleged to be part of that gang were also re-arrested this week in Edmonton to face drug-related charges.
Cody Sterling Tremblett and Penny Sue Fleming were taken into custody after investigators allege they were seen completing a drug deal in the city.
