Police have charged a Nova Scotia woman with drunk driving in the death of her nine-year-old daughter.

Candice Roxanne Moore, 30, of Mount Pleasant is facing one count of impaired driving causing death and one count of refusing to comply with the breathalyzer.

The charges come after the death of Olive Moore, who died after she was struck by a van on Jan. 19.

Police say the little girl had just been dropped off near a relative’s home when the van backed over her on Corkum Division.

She was taken to the South Shore Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Her funeral was held Friday at the Pleasantville Baptist Church.

Candice Roxanne Moore is due to appear in Bridgewater provincial court on March 27.

The girl’s obituary lists her parents as Tavish and Candice Moore.
