A boat with five fisherman started taking on water off the coast of southwest Nova Scotia, just three days into lobster season.
The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Halifax received a mayday call around 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
Officials with the Canadian Coast Guard say the 13-metre fishing boat was 17 nautical miles southwest of Yarmouth.
Several fishing vessels responded and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre deployed a Hercules aircraft, which dropped a pump to the boat.
Officials say the situation is stable and the boat is headed back to the dock, with all five fishermen onboard.
