HALIFAX -- A documentary about one of Newfoundland and Labrador's most popular premiers will make its debut at this year's Atlantic Film Festival.
The National Film Board says "Danny" is an entertaining portrait of former premier Danny Williams.
The board says Williams boosted Newfoundlanders' self-esteem, the province's economy and received unprecedented approval ratings for a Canadian politician during his tenure at the head of the province from 2003 to 2010.
The film is directed by Justin Simms and William D. MacGillivray, who are from the province, and is produced by the film board's Annette Clarke.
The world premiere of "Danny" will take place on Sept. 13 at a theatre in Halifax as part of the Atlantic Film Festival.
