Halifax Regional Police are trying to identify a man who allegedly took a video of a 14-year-old boy inside a washroom at Park Lane Mall.

Police received a report Sunday evening that the man had allegedly taken video of the teen, who was in the stall next to him, inside the men’s washroom near the movie theatre at the mall on Spring Garden Road around 4:45 p.m.

Police say the boy yelled at the man, who ran out of the washroom. The boy left the washroom with his 13-year-old friend, who had also been inside at the time, and reported the incident to his father, who called police.

Investigators have obtained video footage from the area and are asking for the public’s help in identifying the man.

The suspect is described as a medium-complected man with dark hair. He was wearing a grey T-shirt and dark grey pants, dark shoes and a dark ball cap. He was wearing a knapsack and what looked like a black and white Adidas cape over his shoulder.

Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect is asked to contact police.
