FREDERICTON - The New Brunswick Nurses Union says a tentative agreement reached last month with the provincial government has been ratified.

The union says members voted 73 per cent in favour of the four-year agreement on Thursday.

Union president Marilyn Quinn says members will continue to accrue retirement allowance up to the maximum under the deal.

She says it also includes a wage increase of about one per cent per year over the life of the contract.

The New Brunswick Nurses Union represents about 6,500 registered nurses working in hospitals and community care.
