SAINT-ANTOINE, N.B. - New Brunswick Liberal Leader Brian Gallant kicked off his final full day of campaigning by rallying the troops in front of a memorial dedicated to his political inspiration.

With the image of former Liberal premier Louis Robichaud behind him, Gallant told a red-clad crowd in Saint-Antoine today that he's ready to lead the province toward change.

Robichaud was the first Acadian to be elected premier in 1960 and Gallant says he hopes to follow in those footsteps.

Gallant, who was born in the Acadian community of Shediac Bridge, told reporters that he's looked up to Robichaud and his accomplishments for many years.

The 32-year-old, who was first elected to the riding of Kent in a byelelection last year, says he's proud of the campaign he's run over the past four weeks.

The Liberal's promise to balance the books in six years and create jobs rests on spending $900-million on infrastructure.
