An area of Uniacke Street in north-end Halifax was blocked off following a report of a man carrying a gun Saturday night.
Halifax Regional Police say they received a report of a man in his late 20s or early 30s carrying a gun on Isleville Street around 7:15 p.m.
The man was described as black with a bald head, wearing a black suit, glasses, and a slight beard.
It was then reported that the suspect left the area with another man in a taxi.
Officers determined the two men were dropped off in the 5400 block of Uniacke Street.
Police blocked off the area and made contact with the people inside the home, who matched the description of the suspects. The men were detained at the scene.
No firearms were found during this search and the detained men were released without charges.
