The family of a missing 27-year-old Moncton woman is making a public plea for information four weeks after she disappeared.

Jami Springer was last seen walking on McLaughlin Drive the afternoon of Aug. 31. She was reported missing by her family on Sept. 4.

Police say it is unusual for Springer to be out of contact with her family for an extended period of time and they are treating her disappearance as suspicious.

Her mother, Gillian Fletcher, made the following statement Wednesday morning at the Codiac Regional RCMP detachment:

“Today marks four weeks since Jami was last seen here in Moncton.  It has been a month of waiting, sleepless nights, praying and hoping to have the phone ring and hear Jami on the other end.

As a family we've done our own searching around Moncton, talking to everyone we can and we've been sharing Jami's picture on social media every day in hopes that someone recognizes her and knows where she is.

This is our worst nightmare.  Where is Jami? Who is she with? Is she safe?

We know that somebody knows something.

Jami, if you see this, please call us.  We love you and want to know you’re safe.  To the person or people who do know something, please call the police or Crime Stoppers.  If this was your loved one missing; your daughter, your son, your brother, your sister, your mother or your father, you would want to know where they are and that they are safe.

Thank you to the media for being here and helping keep Jami’s disappearance in the public eye.  Thank you to the RCMP investigators who have kept us up to date about what’s being done to find Jami but they need the public’s help.  Please everyone, keep sharing this on social media so that those who know something see it.

Please help my family and help us find Jami. We love her dearly and want to see her again.  Please help us bring her home.”

Police also provided an update on the case Wednesday morning, saying the investigation is ongoing and they continue to follow up on tips and information about Springer’s disappearance.

Staff Sgt. Maurice Comeau says time is becoming an issue.

“The longer it goes, of course, it's going to be harder for us to try to find out what happened to her,” said Comeau. “That's why we're reaching out to the public to try to help us.”

Police have also released new photos, supplied by her family, which show some of her tattoos.

Her tattoos include a flower on her upper back, a butterfly on her lower back that extends around her waist, a multi-coloured tattoo of a birthday cake, along with other various tattoos on the upper part of her right arm and a red, white and blue Popsicle on the inner part of her upper right arm. Springer also has a large tattoo of the Lord’s Prayer that goes the entire length of her thigh on the left leg.

Springer is described as Caucasian, with dark brown hair and brown eyes. She is five-foot-four inches tall and weighs roughly 106 pounds.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact police.
