Halifax Regional Police confirm human remains found at a crime scene in November are those of Catie Miller.

Investigators discovered the remains at one of four sites connected to the Catie Miller murder investigation on Nov. 26, but the remains were not positively identified by a medical examiner until Wednesday.

Police say the location of Miller’s remains will not be released at this time as court proceedings are ongoing.

Miller, a 29-year-old mother of one, was last in contact with her family on July 15 and reported missing several days later.

Police searched four locations, two in Lawrencetown, Goffs and Sheet Harbour Passage, in connection with the investigation into Miller’s death.

Three people have been charged in the case. Kelly Amanda MacDonald, 33, and Jason James Johnson, 29, both of Lawrencetown, are charged with first-degree murder and indecently interfering with a dead human body.

George Edward Hubley, 30, of Sheet Harbour is charged with accessory to murder after the fact and indecently interfering with a dead human body.

Police said Hubley and MacDonald know Johnson, but they did not know Miller. Johnson and Miller knew each other, but police have not disclosed the nature of their relationship.
