Halifax Regional Police say RCMP divers have recovered the body of a missing White’s Lake man.
Michael Slaunwhite, 30, was last seen at the Esso on the Bedford Highway on Friday.
Police responded to a report of a suspicious person at the gas station around 10:30 p.m. A witness told police that Slaunwhite left his car running while he purchased a drink inside.
They said Slaunwhite seemed distraught and quickly ran from the store on foot, leaving his car behind. He was last seen running across the street and behind buildings bordering the Sackville River.
Slaunwhite was reported missing to police Monday.
Police say divers found his remains in the Bedford Basin, at the mouth of the Sackville River, at 2 p.m. Thursday.
Foul play is not suspected in his death.
